Health and Exercise


The elderly members we work with are encouraged to have a healthy and active lifestyle. We help them to achieve this  through our health and fitness programmes which include: Gym at a local community facility; Sports including soccer and netball; Park walks etc. (Thanks to our sponsors – at the Groeneweide Gym). 

Exercise for the elderly has been proven to have the following benefits: Live Longer, Improved Balance, Reduced risk of stroke and heart attack, Better bone density, Prevent and /or delay disease, More confidence and independence.

The elderly face unique challenges as they are usually retired, with limited income and limited support to cater for life’s daily challenges. T.S.O helps the elderly in this regard through various mechanisms which include:

Social Events

The elderly usually have limited opportunities to socialize or just to have a good time with their peers.

We hold various functions that enable the much needed socialising and fun events. Included are the following:
